Last summer, I joined my parents and little brother for a short trip to Croatia at the beginning of August. In 6 days, we visited 3 idyllic islands. Let me just say I was blown away!
My one and only advice: you have to go!! Croatia is a great family destination, but it is also perfect to visit with friends in your twenties. If you like to party, you can try Ultra Europe this year or even Yacht Week! Enjoy the fun!
I decided to go with my family and was able to relax, and forget all about my job for a week :) If you like hot weather, turquoise water, good food and people excited to see you visit their country, then you’ll love Croatia.
I started my 6-day vacation in Split, then travelled to Korcula and ended the vacation in Dubrovnik. Follow me and find out about my favorites spots in this beautiful country!
One Day in Split
We stayed at the Judita Palace Hotel, a beautiful medieval-looking hotel with an amazingly friendly staff, comfy beds and yummy breakfast. In front of the hotel, there is a small cafe where people sit and relax, watching others come and go during the day. My mom would love to sit and sip her glass of chardonnay in the afternoon!
One day in Split leaves you with very little time!
I believe the best way to discover a city is by walking around, speaking with locals and eating the food.
We did a private guided tour of Split where our local guide brought us to the main attractions of the island. In one day, I recommend going to the seaport of Split and walking thought the Diocletian’s Palace in the center of town (the ruins are thought to be the best preserved Roman architecture in Eastern Europe). Then…have a gelato and enjoy the city!
My favorite restaurant in Split was a pizza place called Pizzeria Skipper at the top of a hill. The thin crust pizza is delicious, but what’s best is the view of the seaside port that you’ll enjoy during your entire meal. The experience is worth the hike up there!
The next day, we left for our next destination: Korcula! Stay tuned for the rest of the trip!
